Chinese New Year Parade

Happy New Year!

Londoners stood in multitude last Sunday to watch the annual Chinese New Year Parade in celebration of the Lunar New year.

Full of joy, music and culture, the BBC have even claimed ‘it’s been said to be the biggest parade outside Asia’

This years theme was ‘China Today and Yesterday’ combining old and new Chinese culture.

Golds and reds ribboned through the streets of London, dragons dancing to a beat of a Tanguu Drum. Starting at Shaftesbury Avenue and flowing down to Trafalgar Square, where the celebrations continued for the rest of the day with stands selling Chinese cuisine and New Year Gifts.

Continuing the Celebrations, why not take a visit to the London Lantern Festival in Chiswick, London until the 26th February.
